Jazzanae’s Birth Story // Lewis-McChord, Tacoma
This mama worked so hard to grow her baby healthy and strong! After weeks of bed rest and waiting, her doctors visit turned into an induction and then quickly into a cesarean delivery–such a whirlwind! Her delivery was scheduled so close to midnight they asked her, “What day to you want your son’s birth day to be? May 4th or May 5th?” “May the Fourth!” she replied, “We will have a Star Wars baby!” So much joy and love and work and waiting when into little Mason’s arrival, and it definitely shows. Katie’s Birth Story // Kitsap Birth Photographer
First time mama and daddy labor naturally at home and at hospital, with the support of both their mothers. It truly was a labor of love and support by all involved. What an emotional entrance their little one made!
I heard this song for the first time during her labor and it jumped out to me as the perfect song for the session, only to find out later it is “their song”, mama and baby’s: a song she’s been singing to her baby while she waits…”I get to love you…Its the best thing that I’ll ever do…” Perfect indeed.
Allison Birth Story // Kitsap Birth Photographer
Allison trusted herself to make the best choice for herself and her baby, and worked with her birth team to schedule an induction. The only available time to begin the induction was in the evening, but Allison was brave and strong and went for it. She labored all night with the help of pitocin, her nurse, her husband, and worship music. By dawn she had progressed to 3cm, and asked to have her water broken. One hour later, during which she labored in the bed and the tub, her baby was born! Eye’s wide open, ready to greet the world…
When Allison’s labor began a song played saying “Holy Spirit you are welcome here…”
Just after her new baby was born the song was “The evidence is all around…the Spirt of the Lord is here…”
It was truly an emotionally charged delivery, a testament to Allison’s strength and faith and to the nearness of God.
